Congratulations to the happy couples

*sniff* Such a happy day for so many...and such a long time coming.

More photos at SF Gate. Careful though, you just might get a little choked up.

That is adorable. Anna Quindlen had a wonderful op-ed in Newsweek two weeks ago. She wrote: "Here's what I don't understand: is there so much love and commitment in the world that we can afford, as a society, to be contemptuous of some portion of it? If two women in white want to join hands in front of their families and friends and vow to love and honor one another until they die, the only reasonable response to that is happy tears, awed admiration and societal acceptance. And--this part is just personal opinion--one of those big honking KitchenAid mixers with the dough hook. Before we know it that will be the response everywhere, not just in Denmark and the Netherlands and Canada and California: approval, appliances."

Carrie - that quote was awesome!

Thanks so much for the link Sula it was very touching and I loved them. For some reason the one with the guys in their bow ties running out of city hall and jumping for joy just got to me. Loved seeing everyone's smiles!

How can two people vowing to love, cherish, and respect one another for the rest of their lives ever be considered a bad thing? This is too long in coming.

Beautiful photos. Beautiful moments. Thank you for posting this.

Super cool! I was really happy about this when I heard. I hope they don't reverse it again.

Carrie: thanks for that great quote! And Naida, excellent about George Takei!
