you've already seen this but...
I can't help myself. I just keep watching this video of Susan Boyle on Britain's Got Talent (like American Idol), and it gets me all teared up. NOT because I buy into the stupid idea that good looks make for good voices, but because she's just so plucky and comfortable with herself and just hits it out of the park! Fascinating to see the audience members so clearly dismissive of her based on her frumpy looks and then, BAM, get their prejudices knocked in the teeth.
Oh and I love Les Mis. *le sigh*
Time for bed.

I cannot agree with you more. The first time I heard it, I got goosebumps. :)
I love this vid. Saw it on KJ's blog and meant to post it.
I love Simon at the end, though. "I knew it." Heh.
OMG I love this video. I watched it 4 times in a row because it was just so freakin' awesome. Susan came across as so unassuming and likable, and that voice was amazing. Good for her. I hope she goes all the way and gets to sing for the Queen.
Bridget, I get all goosebumpy too. It put a lump in my throat. I love how genuine she is.
lb, Simon is such a tool. lol. Oh, but check this out...from a news blip, made me think of you.
It's not just Boyle's singing that has fans searching the internet for related information. Web searches for the term "gobsmacked" spiked after Boyle used the British slang meaning utterly astonished when describing her reaction to newfound widespread acclaim.Hope you got some Google traffic from that. ;-)
stacy, I hope she wins too! I didn't know the winner sang for the Queen. How cool.
Makes me smile every time I see it!
